Is UCI prestigious? ›

Institutional Honors. UCI is one of 71 universities in the U.S. and Canada elected to membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities. UCI is ranked among nation's top 10 public universities for the ninth year in a row by U.S. News & World Report.

Alcohol consumption is not permitted in any public areas within Undergraduate Housing. No alcohol permits will be issued to UC Irvine students for events that occur in undergraduate housing facilities.

While specific rankings may fluctuate year-to-year, UCI consistently ranks within the top 50 medical schools in the United States. To give you a better idea, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2022 rankings, UCI School of Medicine was ranked #47 in Research and #76 in Primary Care.

Computer Science Programs:

UCI's computer science program is ranked slightly higher than UCD's, but both are well-respected. UCI has an established reputation in computer science research, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision.

GPA Requirement

You must receive a 3.0 GPA (3.4 for non-California residents) or higher in the 15 required “A-G” subject courses, with no grade lower than a C.
